This museum displays the remarkable history of the Sri Lanka Navy up to end of the defeat of the LTTE terrorists. The museum includes artillery and other weapons and it even displays historical details of hoods tower related to second world war in British era. Some of the guns are maintained in functional level for symbolic reasons by the Sri Lanka Navy. In the 1990’s the navy developed the location into a naval museum with many artifacts.
