Over 1,000 Tamils were abducted by the SL military on June 20th 1990, in retaliation for the LTTE’s massacre of 600 policemen. Around 250 Tamils were subsequently murdered and their bodies supposedly burnt by the military with the connivance of Muslim Home Guards.
On June 27th 1990, another 75 Tamils were rounded up by the SLA and their headless bodies were found on the beach a day later.
